farewell concert

My last concert at Slifer House...
It was a long day and I was tired, but it was a lot of fun.

The locusts were chirping as loudly as the band was playing and every once in a while the yellowed Cucumber Magnolia leaves were floating down. The music was oompah and the weather was warm, clear. My parents helped take up offering - thanks to them! And we had a lot of people! I stood by until the end of the concert, as I had involuntarily sacrificed my chair. I didn't mind. Gary set the pretzels and french onion dip aside for quick access and I had to explain this to the other helpers who were confused by the move. I will miss being behind the scenes and darting in and out of the back door. Anyway, Gary was the one, of course, to carry the silver bowl full of pretzels and I followed with the dip! It was quite fun.

Tomorrow is my last day there, but it still hasn't sunk in. This week has flown by, but I am really tired out. I can only wonder what tomorrow will bring...
