Weekend harvest festival

Things have been really busy here. If I am not doing schoolwork, then I am working on my job. If I am not doing either of these things, I am probably meeting with students, answering their emails, or setting up times to meet. Also, I take any opportunities I can to go to church to feast on the word of God. Finally, there's also the normal chores such as laundry and classes. Yet, all is progressing and going well. Thank God that He knows how much we can handle and is there when it's too much for us alone.

This weekend at church we had a harvest festival.
Friday night we heard a message on Matthew 9 and then had group Bible study on I Corinthians 10.
Saturday morning we met to hear a message on the passage and then write and share testimonies.
Sunday morning we heard a message on John 9 and testimonies. We then celebrated with Thanksgiving dinner (complete with carrot cake!)
It was really fun, as always!

I was really moved by John chapter 9. You know how you sometimes read something and it sits on the edge of your mind for a while, catching your attention and defining your mood? That is kinda how I am feeling.

Why?
Why did this man have to suffer?
Why was he born blind?
Jesus answered, “...that the works of God should be revealed in him." (verse 3)

Tell us what we want to hear! Agree with us!
I tell you, All I know is what I know.
He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know.
One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” (verse 25)

The messenger also pointed out something very beautiful in this passage. He questioned why Jesus used mud to heal the blind man's eyes. His interpretation was that it is to act as a reminder of Jesus the Creator:

as men were created from the dust;
so this man's eyes were recreated from the mud
