Jehoshabeath

The whirlwind

Children of Dune miniseries, Part 1:
Duncan: What troubles you, m'Lord?
Paul: The future...
Duncan: You are drunk on too much time.
Paul: I'm drunk on too much me.

Matthew 14:29-31:
And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

The storm without is the storm within.
With too deep a focus on the whirlwind, one sinks. Immobilized by the scale of it and weighed down by the gravity of it.

Rather than wander into the storm to be swallowed by history, there's One who offers a hand to help walk atop it to the shore.
