Persist

Today in church we studied the story of Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52. This thought impressed itself upon me after the service: be persistent and keep asking God for what we need till we have all that we need to follow Him. Prayer should be persistent. And the goal of persistent prayer should not be for worldly things that we happen to feel like at the moment, but for those things which will draw us closer to Jesus.

James 4:2-3
"...Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures."

Mark 10:47-48, 51-52
When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
