creation, genesis 1, world

No

In the past when I tried to contact people and never heard back, I became rather angry. On one level, it's just not very polite. On another level, they were preventing me from reaching some inward desire or goal. Now, when I receive silence as a response, I try to patiently consider whether this is really a response from God. There've been a number of times that "dead ends" have actually kept me on the right track. A few that come to mind:

-My original advisor in graduate school dropped me from her list and I had to seek a new advisor.
-I never heard back from any of the PA jobs that I applied for in 2008.
-I never heard back from many of the folks whom I contacted when looking for a roommate in 2009.
-I never heard back from any of the Salvation Army church contacts whom I emailed earlier this year.

Knowing that the Lord is sovereign and wise, I don't feel as fearful to reach out and try to contact people in sheer (and sincere) curiosity via email. I may not hear back from half of the messages, but rather than grow angry, I can rest in trust that the Lord's will will be done. While I may have my own desires, God's plans and desires are far higher.

Isaiah 55:9
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts."
