Pilgrim's Progress

I read The Pilgrim's Progress this past week. I'll post my reflections behind the cut so I don't spoil the story for anyone :) I will say, though, that it's a fascinating read if you want to learn more about the Christian walk or better understand why Christians respond in the ways that they do to all sorts of other ideas and influences. New icons

This is the latest collection of icons that I've made. How do they look? Are there any that are confusing? Does anybody have ideas for other icons that I could make? On my "to do" list are: tongue of fire, tree of life. If anybody happens to like one (or more) of these, feel free to snag at will. Otherwise, I will just enjoy them here :)

Misc. thoughts

Numbers 24:13
'...I must say only what the LORD says'

While in His majestic justice God could have simply struck all sinners dead from His throne above, He came down to us in order to gently find us and save us:

Genesis 3:8-9
'And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"'

Luke 19:10
'For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.'

The Christian's life should be one of victory. Of course, there are ups and downs, but the final result of this struggle in life for the true Christian will be victory - a return from the battlefield to our home. (Rev 1-2) As one preacher put it, Jesus doesn't loose a single one of the soldiers in his army.

With those thoughts, I'm logging off and turning in early. My eyes are hurting and need to rest a while. Best wishes, everybody!
