I learned that Prince Sawara was a historical figure! ^___^ He lived at Todaiji temple in NARA but then got back into politics and was exiled for being suspected on a plot. He died and they built a tomb for him on AWAJI, but then moved the tomb to Yamato (Nara Pref.)
Ohh for Nara Period Japan! And yay for Awaji?! XD I knew that place wasn't wholly random^^
Poor Sawara...
Anyway, the research for my thesis tonight involved not only Semimaru, but work with the timeline. Ohhh Heian court titles...I have the important ones figured out for the most part, but, yuck they are long and confusing and kanji-ful. 右兵衛督 (Captain of the Right Watch), 右中将 (Middle Captain of the Right Palace Guards), 左中将 (Middle Captain of the Left Palace Guards). Oww my head. Thanks to
So does that make Hiromasa a 'chujo' like To no Chujo from Tale of Genji? :p
Mmm I wanna go back and learn more about Sawara *grin*
Awaji...awaji...where on Awaji?! I traversed every square inch of Awaji! (Well, almost. It felt like it, sometimes!) I don't remember hearing stories about a revengeful prince - just Izanagi stories. Which reminds me, is there an Izanami Shrine and where?
