Tonight my dad and I attended a concert at Slifer House Museum! It was fun, and I got to talk to my boss there. It's fun catching up on all the news!! I was also excited to take a peek at the 'Female Institute' (aka Bucknell) Graduation certificate from the 1800's. Some of the people who signed it have familiar names -- President Loomis (the old athletic field was named after him, but since then it's become the ground for new dorms) & Spratt (a house is named after him). It's kind of exciting putting pieces like this together for a fuller picture! :)
Ok, it's really exciting to me!
Trouble is, I never know where to begin or where to start looking for this kind of fun evidence of the past. I guess the history channel, but I am just not that big a fan of TV viewing...And I get lazy reading books that lack pictures ^__~
Well, the night before last (Wednesday) we had prayer service - Psalm 145. We spent some time on the general, dad made a note about Hebrew poetry, and then we discussed verses 4-6:
4 "One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts.
5 Of the glorious majesty of your honor, of your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness."
It seems that talking about God is not something that many Christians or non-Christians feel comfortable with these days...I am struggling with what to make of this. My father tried pointing out that often actions speak louder than words...still... :\
Tomorrow there are no big plans, but Saturday is the local festival/picnic day, so I have to go help at the ice cream stand at the park. Yay ice cream^^ Then, Sunday, we go to visit my grandmother in Gettysburg after church. I won't be back until late...
And after this: the last week of work for this summer! Yikes.
Tomorrow, though, is buildings photo shoot day!! XD Oh boy, I am excited! Let's go!
