I read the Lapidary Journal articles about the replica of the Priest's Breastplate (finally!). It was pretty interesting, but I wish I had color photos! Also, My dad found a short online article about the identification of semiprecious gemstones in ancient languages and literature. If anyone is curious, I have it in rtf and it's only a few pages, very easy reading^^ I also worked on some other non-school readings and activities, which was fun! :)
I have discovered that matza crackers with jelly and also with pudding make for a great snack!
I did poke at homework a little, even though I told myself that I wouldn't. Here I go looking for manna in the desert on Sabbath to find none! I tidied up some on my elementary school webpage, did a problem set for LBSC650 (Reference class), and planned my upcoming week's homework schedule. Another long and busy week ahead, but it should be ok. Before I know it, it will be another weekend! Time is flying.
In terms of Bible study for the day, thanks to Isaiah 58 I now understand this verse better:
"Blessed is the man...[whose] delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night." Psalms 1:2
Some excerpts from Isaiah 58
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
The LORD will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the LORD honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
