Meditation

Why do I spend so much time weaving my own stories and trying to map out scenarios? [I have been working on one story since 7th grade and still don't even have pieces I could call draft chapters. It's sorrowful.] Luckily, I am not without hope!
There are plenty of episodes and people in the Bible to think about those afternoons when my mind starts wandering -- and they really are intriguing. What better thing to think about than the great, and the obscure, chapters of the Bible? With examples like Abraham or Lydia, why would I try to construct my own silly sculptures? I waste so much time using my brain for pointless things! Better to focus on depth and truth than on this shifty, sandy self. I will admit, some things are not so easy or pleasant to consider, but-

Meditation

Twelve stones set into a linen breastplate: sapphire, agate, onyx, jasper...(Exodus)

Twelve eternal foundations: carnelian, topaz, jacinth, amethyst...(Revelation)

Like a honeycomb are pleasant words (Proverbs 16:24)

Silvery flying fish, great and innumerable burning suns of the universe, rainbows over the mountains...

A guiding pillar of fire and cloud, rain of manna in the desert, help of Joseph who was enslaved, protection of David the warrior, and hope of Daniel the exile...
