I will praise the LORD with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
The works of the LORD are great,
Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
This is from Psalm 111, the passage my home church studied today. I think it really fits the season and the day. After church this morning, I walked outside to find the car. To my left stood ranks of cherry and forsythia in brilliant bloom. To my right, the people of the congregation gathered to chat. I would have been content to stand there all afternoon.
Psalm 119 - H
Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law
And keep it with all my heart
May I understand so I can appreciate - and may I appreciate so I can act out of my gratitude with a loving heart. Without love, work is tiresome; and without joy, wisdom is cold.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it...
Lead me, for I seek to follow! No other path leads to fulfillment like this.
Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity,
And revive me in Your ways.
Refresh me with purity, with grace. Chasing my own dreams leads me to weariness and wandering.
Establish Your word to Your servant,
As that which produces reverence for You.
With knowledge comes responsibility. Also, with knowledge comes fellowship and understanding.
Besides a day full of database work from 2:00-10:00, I thought about some other random things. I want to sketch out a scene of a Kingly court, but it will have to wait for a time when I can do research. Also, I have asked my dad to dig around for some information on Levite women for me to satisfy my shifting mind :)
