Creation through music.

Of all the beautiful things, one of the most curious is music. It is powerful and ancient. It's easy to forget the glory of music, but when you are able to hear it in raw form - bows on strings and bodies tensely drawn in preparation - it reminds you all over again. It's soothing and thrilling all at the same time. It reaches out and touches the soul.

We all love music.

Whether it is dancing with friends to the tune of bluegrass and sea shanties, catching the latest new song on the radio, or savoring a classic opera, we all love music. Back in 2004, when I was asked to name five things I love most, music was my second choice. A smile was my third. I can tell you that I was smiling as I sat enjoying the concert tonight. I am sure God was smiling, too. He also loves music. We know because David, "a man after God's own heart", was a Psalmist, a musician, and a poet. One day, the beauty of pure music will be heard and no Melkor will be able to taint it. Will you join us in the chorus?
