Later, we went bowling...and I won the second game with the low score of 117! All right! I haven't gone bowling in years, so I was rusty. But as soon as I started lining up my throw with the arrows on the lane, my score improved dramatically. The highest score was 125 and Justin was very pleased to win. We ate Mexican that night and Italian the following afternoon. The beef fajitas were delicious and the spaghetti and meatballs was the best I had in years. The two meatballs were between the size of golf balls and tennis balls! Woah!
Sunday service at church was wonderful. We broke bread together, speaking to one another in hymns, praying, and sharing insight from Scripture. The atmosphere was one of brotherhood and peace. Later, we heard a message on "5 things to consider" based on five different verses:
Deuteronomy 4:39, Deuteronomy 32:29, I Samuel 12:24, Haggai 1:5, 1:7, Hebrews 12:3
I also met a friend from College Park who gave me a book called Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer. I've read through the first two chapters and it is really good so far. The author is very realistic, while also being kind, understanding, and helpful. I am looking forward to reading farther. Then, here at home, dad and I dug up some books on Spiritual Gifts. I am analyzing myself to see what I have been gifted with and how I can use those gifts. I will probably be posting more on that later.
Yesterday, right after returning from the retreat, I got an email from my boss. He has a new project for me to work on and I am pretty excited about it! The work is easier than what I normally do and rather fun. I'll be working on that throughout the rest of this week. I'll be staying inside today and tomorrow because the roads are covered in snow! It is supposed to start sleeting later today and continue to snow and rain all day today and tomorrow. It is still winter, says the groundhog!
