So, when I got home from work, I cranked the keyer up from 20 wpm to 30 wpm. The dits were indeed a little touchy, but it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. My call sign and QTH (location) have become almost second nature from all the practice, so I was able to send them fairly easily. Once I got the hang of it, the code sounded really nice. Everything besides my call and QTH came across a bit scrambled due to my sluggish fingers, but I was still quite satisfied. I think that with some practice I will catch on pretty quickly. It's not nearly as overwhelming as it was going from 10 wpm to 20 wpm. Just like before, though, my brain will need some time to catch up and process the code that quickly. I have to make the transition from recognizing individual letters to recognizing words. But I think even this is coming along. I must say, I am excited to QRQ.
I caught myself looking at the Elecraft/Bencher Hex Key today, too. The internet is a dangerous place!
