"If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men."
Today's sermon was based on this passage. A friend at church commented afterwards that it really helped open her eyes to the perspectives of her non-Christian acquaintances toward her. I was really encouraged to continue walking by faith and not by sight (like the "heroes of faith" in Hebrews 11) until faith becomes sight.
O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight!
"For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;
And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,
Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!"
How my heart yearns within me!
