Riddle: who sits at the table?

"For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves." Luke 22:27

"You prepare a table before me..." Psalm 23:5a

"And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'? But will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for my supper...'?" Luke 17:7-8

How is it that God Himself came to serve (Mark 10:45)? How is it that He prepares a table before His chosen people and a dwelling place for them (John 14:1-4)? I've been learning more and more about this God through the books of Moses and of Luke. It is so true that God reveals Himself to us through His Word and that He sanctifies men and women in the fire of His holiness through that same Word (John 17:17).
