The challenge of evangelism

"Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." 1 Corinthians 1:22-24

I'm beginning to see what this passage means. To those who disregard the Bible, King Jesus appears as a foolish man. To those who regard the Bible, Jesus of Nazareth appears an offensive blasphemer. It's only by the grace of God that any believe unto salvation. How awesome it will be on that day when Jews and Gentiles are saved to worship God together as one.

Lord, make me mighty in the Scriptures that I might show "from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah" (Acts 18:24-28). Give me power by Your Spirit that I might share the good news of "the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Galatians 1:3-5
