Scripture quoted in the Old Testament

The Bible is a long book. Because of that, I find that it can be hard to grasp its message and unity. I've started keeping an eye out for passages where people in the Old Testament quote earlier Scripture. I want to limit myself to the Old Testament for now because I feel that by understanding God's word before He sent Christ, I'll be better equipped to understand Jesus and the New Covenant believers. I've started keeping an eye out for these "quotations." Here are some notes so far

  • Genesis 24:7 (Abraham)
  • Exodus 33:1 (God)
  • Deuteronomy 34:4 (God)

Jacob receives the promise (Genesis 35:11-12)
  • Genesis 48:3-4 (Jacob)

  • Nehemiah 1:8 (Nehemiah)

"from there the Lord your God will gather you" (Deuteronomy 30:2–5)
  • Nehemiah 1:9 (Nehemiah)
