Job and God's word

"I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my necessary food." Job 23:12

"I have not departed from the commandment of His lips..."

-Interesting to see how Job "remembers" and "keeps" God's word!
-Job's faith is genuine and that is revealed by a lifestyle of obedience to God's word.
-I wonder which "commandment(s)" Job is talking about? If Job did indeed live during the time covered by Genesis, then the books of Moses wouldn't have been written yet. Even so, God spoke to people - we see that all through Genesis.

"...I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food."

-Sounds a lot like what the Lord Jesus said when He quoted the Torah - "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" Matthew 4:4
