I recently finished reading through the first book of Psalms (1-41). I was struck by how many of the psalms quote the words or thoughts of others. Here are a few examples:

"When You said, 'Seek My face,'
My heart said to You, 'Your face, Lord, I will seek.'" Psalm 27:8

Many are they who say of me,
'There is no help for him in God.' Selah
But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head. Psalm 3:2-3

"There are many who say,
'Who will show us any good?'
Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us." Psalm 4:6
