News and Birds

The new year is starting fine for me. I had been feeling sick before Christmas and had to adjust my thyroid meds and vitamins, but my stomach and sleep schedule are better.

Christmastime was a lot of fun :) Matt and Shelby came in for Christmas and we had a lovely time celebrating together! It's a relief to be back in Pennsylvania and a blessing to be able to spend so much time with my parents again. In the new year, Nathan came in for a visit, too, and we had a great time! We couldn't get out much because it's so cold, but we went out to eat at OIP, watched White Christmas, and played Wind Waker and cribbage. For Christmas, Nathan made me my very own Pokemon - a Chimecho wind chime! :D He hand-painted it and made a pokedex booklet for it. I love it - it's such a special gift ^_^ Mom and Dad got me the new Pokemon game, which I'm really enjoying, along with a new wallet, and lots of other goodies :3 Matt and Shelby got me some new baseball gear - a Phillies shirt and book and even cracker jack, hehe! I'm getting geared up for spring :)

I'm still working part-time, got my paperwork in order, and applied to a job nearby. We'll see what happens!

In my free time, I've been drawing birds :) There aren't many to see outside because it's been so cold and dreary, but I've been taking trips to the local Petsmart to watch the birds there. The parakeets are funny and make cute sounds :3 The finches are sweet and beautiful. I could stand and watch them for hours.

My birthday is coming up, so I'm looking forward to going out to eat at Friendly's :) Sad news is that they closed the restaurant closest to us...but there are others in the area. Weekly Bible study and prayer service will be starting back up again since the holidays are over and we put away all our Christmas decorations. We did have fun watching the PA farm show on PCN last week. I especially liked the Tractor Square Dancing, Auctioneer competition, Rabbit Hopping contest, Hereford cow judging, and Sheep-to-Shawl contest. There were a lot of lovely animals and neat crafts and skills to see. I'm still amazed how they maneuver those tractors around to square dance, hehe! Promenade - make that engine purr and smoke and circle around the big old ring-o! :)
