Matt took us out to a really nice Asian restaurant called VeeKoo. The atmosphere was nice - calm and sophisticated. And the food was delicious. I got sushi - tuna roll and spicy salmon roll - along with some miso soup. Mmm, it was good! Dad and Matt got fancy sushi rolls, Mom got pad thai, and Shelby got some dumplings. I definitely want to eat there again :)
After dinner, we walked across the street to Handel's for some ice cream. Cake batter ice cream, yum! Dad and Mom had gotten a big cookie to celebrate my birthday, so we ate that with the ice cream back at Matt's place. We visited and chatted until it was bedtime and then we came back home today. We stopped in at Chik-Fil-A for brunch on the way home. I love their chicken biscuits, hash browns, and coffee...mmm
For my birthday, Matt got me a CD of Chinese music that includes the playing of the ancient Bianzhong bells. It's fascinating to hear these ancient bells! (Shoutoku, my Bronze Bell Pokemon, approves.)
It's always good to see Matt and Shelby! I'm really glad that we could visit, even if it was just for a day :)
